CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
usb: gadget: midi2: Fix the jack descriptor array sizes
The jack in/out descriptor arrays in struct f_midi2_usb_config have
the size of MAX_CABLES, which look reasonable -- but it turned out to
be incorrect. Namely, the entries for those arrays are added from
both inputs and outputs, hence for each loop cycle, it adds two, ended
up with as twice as the expected size. This inconsistency may result
in potential OOB when a large number of jacks are set up via configfs,
although the max number of cables (the loop count) is limited to
MAX_CABLES.
For addressing it, correct the jack_ins & jack_outs array sizes to
twice, MAX_CABLES * 2. |

This bug showed up starting with v7.3-rc1. At the NIP in
phy_link_topo_add_phy() is a netdev_need_ops_lock() check.
This was added by the following
commit ded86da4bbb7 ("net: ethtool: relax ethnl_req_get_phydev() locking assertion")
The bug shows up because at the time of_phy_connect() was called, the
netdev_ops were *not yet* determined. My fix is to move the code that
sets netdev_ops+commac.ops+ethtool_ops further up as emac_init_config()
derives that by looking at the device-tree and sets the required
dev->phy_mode accordingly.
During review, the Sashiko bot's AI stated that the commac assignment
became a dead store. Great catch! To keep the original behavior as-is,
one mentioned option "set dev->commac.ops = &emac_commac_ops only in
the non-gige case?" sounded like a great plan. So the dev->commac.ops
assignment for the non-gige-case moves into the else block.
This patch was tested on a WD MyBook Live (RGMII). the device now works again. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/mediatek: Add missing IS_ERR check for ovl_adaptor platform device
platform_device_register_data() can fail and return an ERR_PTR, but the
return value is used without checking, leading to an invalid pointer
being stored in ddp_comp[].dev and passed to component_match_add() and
mtk_ddp_comp_init(), which could result in a kernel crash.
Add an IS_ERR() check to jump to the error handling path on failure. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
macsec: initialize SecY before registering the netdevice
Creating a MACsec device with MAC offload over an LRO-capable lower
device triggers a warning in rtmsg_ifinfo_build_skb() when IPv4
forwarding is enabled by default.
register_netdevice() invokes inetdev_init(), which disables LRO and emits
a NETDEV_FEAT_CHANGE notification. This reaches macsec_fill_info() before
macsec_add_dev() initializes the SecY. key_len is still zero, so
macsec_fill_info() returns -EMSGSIZE and trips the WARN_ON in
rtmsg_ifinfo_build_skb(), even though the skb has enough space.
Even without the warning, notifications during registration can report
uninitialized SecY attributes, including the SCI. This ordering has existed
since the driver was introduced.
Initialize the SecY and apply the new-link attributes before registration.
Move MAC address inheritance into macsec_newlink() so the SCI can also be
initialized before registration-time notifications report it. Move the
per-CPU statistics and metadata destination allocation into ndo_init(),
and release partial allocations on failure. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
vsock: Fix memory leak in vmci_transport_recv_dgram_cb()
During the closure of a datagram socket, the vmci_transport_recv_dgram_cb()
function may be called, which will add the packets
to the socket's backlog; then, after the receive queue is cleared,
the __release_sock() function will move the packet back from the socket's
backlog to the receive queue, which will lead to a memory leak.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
btrfs: always return -EIOCBQUEUED after btrfs_uring_read_extent_endio
If all bios finish before btrfs_encoded_read_regular_fill_pages()
returns, it calls btrfs_uring_read_extent_endio() and previously
returned the I/O status. A negative errno then made
btrfs_uring_read_extent() unlock and free while
btrfs_uring_read_finished() did the same again.
Return -EIOCBQUEUED so only the deferred path cleans up. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
media: video-i2c: use vb2_video_unregister_device on driver removal
The driver uses vb2_fop_release() as its file release operation, so
vb2_video_unregister_device() should be used instead of
video_unregister_device() during driver removal.
This ensures that the vb2 queue is properly disconnected before the
video device is unregistered. |

crypto: ccp - Fix possible deadlock in SEV init failure path
__sev_platform_init_handle_init_ex_path() calls
rmp_mark_pages_firmware() with locked=false while the parent
function of init_ex_path already acquired the sev_cmd_mutex.
In the case of an RMPUPDATE failure for any page after the first, the cleanup
path would invoke reclaim pages which would result in a deadlock in
sev_do_cmd.
Pass locked=true to honor the lock status of the parent function. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/xe: harden adjust_idledly() against divide-by-zero and overflow
adjust_idledly() has several corner-case issues flagged during review:
1. If xe_gt_clock_init() failed to recognise the crystal clock,
gt->info.timestamp_base is 0, which makes idledly_units_ps also 0.
The subsequent DIV_ROUND_CLOSEST(..., idledly_units_ps) is then a
divide-by-zero and panics the kernel.
2. The tick-to-ns conversions are done in u32:
idledly * idledly_units_ps, (maxcnt - 1) * 1000
Both overflow u32 before DIV_ROUND_CLOSEST() sees them.
3. If IDLE_WAIT_TIME reads back as 0, maxcnt evaluates to 0 and
the maxcnt - 1 clamp wraps to 0xFFFFFFFF in u32.
4. The register only stores whole ticks, so the clamped ns value has
to be converted to ticks and back. DIV_ROUND_CLOSEST() can round
that conversion up past maxcnt:
maxcnt = 640 ns, one tick = 666664 ps
clamp: maxcnt - 1 = 639 ns
ns -> ticks: 639000 / 666664 = 0.958 -> rounds to 1 tick
tick -> ns: 1 * 666664 / 1000 = 667 ns
667 ns is programmed into RING_IDLEDLY, but 667 >= maxcnt (640),
so xe_gt_WARN_ON() fires again on every subsequent init.
Return early if timestamp_base is 0 (the unknown-crystal path).
Do the conversions in u64 via the *_ULL() helpers so they cannot wrap.
Clamp with a floor (DIV_ROUND_DOWN_ULL) so the programmed delay stays
strictly below maxcnt, and guard the maxcnt == 0 case with a zero delay
while still writing RING_IDLEDLY so INHIBIT_SWITCH_UNTIL_PREEMPTED is
cleared.
v2: Drop the redundant warn on the timestamp_base == 0 path;
xe_gt_clock_init() already warns on an unrecognised crystal clock.
Keep the early return to avoid the divide-by-zero. - Vinay
v3: Field-mask the RING_IDLEDLY write with REG_FIELD_PREP(IDLE_DELAY, ...)
instead of writing the raw tick count, which could clobber
INHIBIT_SWITCH_UNTIL_PREEMPTED and reserved bits. Split the
inhibit-switch clear from the maxcnt clamp so a set inhibit bit no
longer forces a needless delay overwrite when the delay itself is
already valid. Use gt_to_xe(gt) instead of gt_to_xe(hwe->gt).

ksmbd: fix lease break and ack state handling
Do not skip valid lease states containing WRITE_CACHING when breaking

ASoC: codecs: max98363: fix uninitialized stream_config->type
stream_config is not initialized before being passed to

Zero-initialize stream_config so type defaults to SDW_STREAM_PCM. |

serial: ma35d1: Fix clock reference leak in ma35d1serial_probe()
of_clk_get() returns a clock with a reference that has to be released

is leaked on the probe error paths and also when the port is removed.
Release it on the error paths and in ma35d1serial_remove(). |
| A Null pointer dereference problem was found in ida_free in lib/idr.c in the Linux Kernel. This issue may allow an attacker using this library to cause a denial of service problem due to a missing check at a function return. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
fuse: reject oversized dirents in page cache
fuse_add_dirent_to_cache() computes a serialized dirent size from the
server-controlled namelen field and copies the dirent into a single
page-cache page. The existing logic only checks whether the dirent fits
in the remaining space of the current page and advances to a fresh page
if not. It never checks whether the dirent itself exceeds PAGE_SIZE.
As a result, a malicious FUSE server can return a dirent with
namelen=4095, producing a serialized record size of 4120 bytes. On 4 KiB
page systems this causes memcpy() to overflow the cache page by 24 bytes
into the following kernel page.
Reject dirents that cannot fit in a single page before copying them into
the readdir cache. |

net: can: j1939: j1939_xtp_rx_rts_session_active(): deactivate session upon receiving the second rts
Since j1939_session_deactivate_activate_next() in j1939_tp_rxtimer() is

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
irqchip/gic-v3-its: Avoid truncating memory addresses
On 32-bit machines with CONFIG_ARM_LPAE, it is possible for lowmem
allocations to be backed by addresses physical memory above the 32-bit
address limit, as found while experimenting with larger VMSPLIT
configurations.
This caused the qemu virt model to crash in the GICv3 driver, which
allocates the 'itt' object using GFP_KERNEL. Since all memory below
the 4GB physical address limit is in ZONE_DMA in this configuration,
kmalloc() defaults to higher addresses for ZONE_NORMAL, and the
ITS driver stores the physical address in a 32-bit 'unsigned long'
variable.
Change the itt_addr variable to the correct phys_addr_t type instead,
along with all other variables in this driver that hold a physical
address.
The gicv5 driver correctly uses u64 variables, while all other irqchip
drivers don't call virt_to_phys or similar interfaces. It's expected that
other device drivers have similar issues, but fixing this one is
sufficient for booting a virtio based guest. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
Bluetooth: ISO: fix refcounting of iso_conn
iso_conn_del() and iso_chan_del() have a race that results to double-put
of iso_conn:
[Task hdev->workqueue] [Task 2]
iso_conn_del iso_chan_del
iso_conn_hold_unless_zero iso_conn_lock
iso_conn_lock conn->sk = NULL
iso_conn_unlock
sk = iso_sock_hold(conn) <---------ยด
if (!sk) iso_conn_put iso_conn_put
iso_conn_put /* UAF */
The extra put for !sk in iso_conn_del() is currently required since
failing iso_chan_add() may leave iso_conn not associated with any sk.
Fix by having iso_pi(sk)->conn own refcount when non-NULL, so
iso_conn_del does not need to put it. Adjust the iso_conn_add()
refcounting so that conn is put if it does not get associated with an
sk. |

ipv4: ip_gre: make ipgre_header() robust
Analog to commit db5b4e39c4e6 ("ip6_gre: make ip6gre_header() robust")
Over the years, syzbot found many ways to crash the kernel
in ipgre_header() [1].
This involves team or bonding drivers ability to dynamically
change their dev->needed_headroom and/or dev->hard_header_len
In this particular crash mld_newpack() allocated an skb
with a too small reserve/headroom, and by the time mld_sendpack()
was called, syzbot managed to attach an ipgre device.
