CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
netfilter: nf_conntrack_sip: fix use of uninitialized rtp_addr in process_sdp
process_sdp() declares union nf_inet_addr rtp_addr on the stack and
passes it to the nf_nat_sip sdp_session hook after walking the SDP
media descriptions. However rtp_addr is only initialized inside the
media loop when a recognized media type with a non-zero port is found.
If the SDP body contains no m= lines, only inactive media sections
(m=audio 0 ...) or only unrecognized media types, rtp_addr is never
assigned. Despite that, the function still calls hooks->sdp_session()
with &rtp_addr, causing nf_nat_sdp_session() to format the stale stack
value as an IP address and rewrite the SDP session owner and connection
lines with it.
With CONFIG_INIT_STACK_ALL_ZERO (default on most distributions) this
results in the session-level o= and c= addresses being rewritten to
0.0.0.0 for inactive SDP sessions. Without stack auto-init the
rewritten address is whatever happened to be on the stack.
Fix this by pre-initializing rtp_addr from the session-level connection
address (caddr) when available, and tracking via a have_rtp_addr flag
whether any valid address was established. Skip the sdp_session hook
entirely when no valid address exists. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
spi: fix statistics allocation
The controller per-cpu statistics is not allocated until after the
controller has been registered with driver core, which leaves a window
where accessing the sysfs attributes can trigger a NULL-pointer
dereference.
Fix this by moving the statistics allocation to controller allocation
while tying its lifetime to that of the controller (rather than using
implicit devres). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: bridge: fix nd_tbl NULL dereference when IPv6 is disabled
When booting with the 'ipv6.disable=1' parameter, the nd_tbl is never
initialized because inet6_init() exits before ndisc_init() is called
which initializes it. Then, if neigh_suppress is enabled and an ICMPv6
Neighbor Discovery packet reaches the bridge, br_do_suppress_nd() will
dereference ipv6_stub->nd_tbl which is NULL, passing it to
neigh_lookup(). This causes a kernel NULL pointer dereference.
BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 0000000000000268

Fix this by replacing IS_ENABLED(IPV6) call with ipv6_mod_enabled() in
the callers. This is in essence disabling NS/NA suppression when IPv6 is
disabled. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: radiotap: reject radiotap with unknown bits
The radiotap parser is currently only used with the radiotap
namespace (not with vendor namespaces), but if the undefined
field 18 is used, the alignment/size is unknown as well. In
this case, iterator->_next_ns_data isn't initialized (it's
only set for skipping vendor namespaces), and syzbot points
out that we later compare against this uninitialized value.
Fix this by moving the rejection of unknown radiotap fields
down to after the in-namespace lookup, so it will really use
iterator->_next_ns_data only for vendor namespaces, even in
case undefined fields are present. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: vxlan: fix nd_tbl NULL dereference when IPv6 is disabled
When booting with the 'ipv6.disable=1' parameter, the nd_tbl is never
initialized because inet6_init() exits before ndisc_init() is called
which initializes it. If an IPv6 packet is injected into the interface,
route_shortcircuit() is called and a NULL pointer dereference happens on
neigh_lookup().

Fix this by adding an early check on route_shortcircuit() when protocol
is ETH_P_IPV6. Note that ipv6_mod_enabled() cannot be used here because
VXLAN can be built-in even when IPv6 is built as a module. |
| There is an infoleak vulnerability in the Linux kernel's net/bluetooth/l2cap_core.c's l2cap_parse_conf_req function which can be used to leak kernel pointers remotely.
We recommend upgrading past commit https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/b1a2cd50c0357f243b7435a732b4e62ba3157a2e https://www.google.com/url

| In handle_le_monitor_device_event of msft.cc, there is a possible control-flow hijack in the privileged bluetooth process due to an uninitialized pointer dereference. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. |
| Privilege escalation due to uninitialized memory in the Graphics: CanvasWebGL component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 156, Firefox ESR 153.3, Thunderbird 156, and Thunderbird 153.3. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bpf: reject BPF_PSEUDO_FUNC reference to the main program
fixups.c:jit_subprogs() rewrites BPF_PSEUDO_FUNC loads to contain real
function addresses. This function is invoked from bpf_jit_subprogs()
only when env->subprog_cnt > 1. Meaning that for any program like
below:
int main(void *ctx) {
void *ptr = main;
...
bpf_timer_set_callback(..., ptr);
...
}
The 'ptr' won't be ever converted to contain an address.
In combination with e.g. bpf_timer_set_callback() this would lead to a
function call at a bogus address.
Instead of complicating the implementation, just assume that no useful
program needs main to be a sync or async callback and reject
BPF_PSEUDO_FUNC loads for the main subprogram. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
nexthop: Initialize extack in remove_nh_grp_entry()
remove_nh_grp_entry() prints the extack message when a listener fails
to replace the reduced nexthop group. However, extack is not
initialized and listeners are not required to set a message when
returning an error. Neither netdevsim nor mlxsw do so when an
allocation fails, resulting in the dereference of an uninitialized
stack pointer.
Fix by zero-initializing extack, as was done in commit 6347c5314cee
("nexthop: initialize extack in nh_res_bucket_migrate()"). |
| Access of Uninitialized Pointer vulnerability in Apache Thrift c_glib bindings.
This issue affects Apache Thrift: before 0.25.0.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 0.25.0, which fixes the issue. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
clk: eswin: Zero-initialize stack-allocated clk_init_data
eswin_clk_register_pll() and eswin_register_clkdiv() declare a struct
clk_init_data on the stack and only initialize some of its fields
(parent_data respectively parent_hws). clk_core_populate_parent_map()
checks parent_names first and parent_data second before falling back
to parent_hws, so leftover stack garbage in the uninitialized fields
hijacks parent resolution and the clk core dereferences a bogus
pointer:

Observed on EIC7700 hardware (with the driver backported to a 6.17
tree); whether the bug triggers depends entirely on what the stack
happens to contain when the registration helpers run.
Zero-initialize both structures. |
| NVIDIA GPU Display Driver for Windows and Linux contains a vulnerability in the firmware where an attacker could cause an access of an uninitialized pointer. A successful exploit of this vulnerability might lead to code execution, denial of service, escalation of privileges, information disclosure, and data tampering. |
| RouterOS WebFig contains an unauthenticated file-read vulnerability in the /jsproxy path where a newly allocated session retains a stale uninitialized principal pointer used for file authorization. An unauthenticated attacker can prepare the allocator so that the file-serving path dereferences this pointer with sufficient rights, then supply parent-directory components in an encrypted URI to escape the WebFig file namespace and disclose root-owned files, including configuration stores containing credentials.This issue affects only 7.x branch was fixed in versions: 7.23.4 (Long-term) and 7.24.2 (Stable) |
| FreeRDP versions before 3.31.0 contain an information disclosure vulnerability in the RDPGFX server's ResetGraphics PDU serializer that fails to initialize padding bytes in the fixed 340-byte wire format. Attackers can receive uninitialized heap memory including live pointers and GLib function addresses transmitted in the PDU, defeating heap ASLR and disclosing the GLib module base address. |
| Triggering an error condition in certain MIME bodies would cause uninitialized memory to be used. This vulnerability was fixed in Thunderbird 155, Thunderbird 140.15, and Thunderbird 153.2. |
| Uninitialized resource in ANGLE in Google Chrome prior to 153.0.8010.47 allowed a remote attacker to read memory outside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: High) |
| Tesseract is an open source OCR engine. In version 5.5.3 and earlier, Plumbing::DeSerialize in src/lstm/plumbing.cpp rejects excessively large network stacks but accepts a zero-length stack for NT_SERIES, NT_PARALLEL, or NT_REVERSED layers in a crafted .traineddata model. During LSTMRecognizer initialization in src/lstm/lstmrecognizer.cpp, CacheXScaleFactor(XScaleFactor()) reaches Series::CacheXScaleFactor in src/lstm/series.cpp, which dereferences stack_[0] on the empty vector and invokes a virtual method through an invalid Network pointer. This causes a deterministic crash and denial of service at model load. No fixed release is available as of this review. |
| FreeRDP versions before 3.31.0 contain an uninitialized heap memory disclosure vulnerability in the urbdrc USB redirection channel. A malicious RDP server can induce failing USB transfers to read uninitialized heap memory from the client, defeating ASLR and enabling remote code execution when chained with memory corruption vulnerabilities. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
nfsd: fix cpntf publish race in nfs4_init_cp_state
nfs4_alloc_init_cpntf_state() published the new cpntf entry into the
s2s_cp_stateids IDR (with cs_type set) in one s2s_cp_lock section, then
took the lock again to list_add() it onto p_stid->sc_cp_list. In the gap
the entry is reachable by so_id but cp_list is still {NULL,NULL} from
kzalloc. A racing OFFLOAD_CANCEL (so_id is echoed to the client as
cnr_stateid, so any NFSv4.2 client can drive it) reaches
manage_cpntf_state() -> _free_cpntf_state_locked() and does list_del() on
the zeroed list_head, oopsing the server.
Fold the cs_type assignment and the list_add() into the same critical
section as idr_alloc_cyclic(), so a concurrent lookup either misses the
entry or sees a fully linked cp_list. INIT_LIST_HEAD() the entry after
allocation and switch _free_cpntf_state_locked() to list_del_init() so a
stale unlink is a no-op. nfs4_init_copy_state() passes NULL p_stid and
skips the list_add, preserving NFS4_COPY_STID semantics. |
