CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/sched: cls_flower: validate mask pointer after nla_next()
fl_set_enc_opt() iterates the key's nested tunnel-option attributes
with nla_for_each_attr() while advancing a single mask pointer via
nla_next() at the bottom of each loop, so the mask cursor is driven
by the number of key attributes rather than by the mask's own
attributes. The nla_ok() added by commit c96adff956191 ("cls_flower:
call nla_ok() before nla_next()") only validates the mask pointer
that was just consumed; the pointer produced by nla_next() is used by
the next iteration (fl_set_geneve_opt() and siblings) without any
validation.
The mask's nested attributes are validated with NL_VALIDATE_LIBERAL,
which merely warns on trailing bytes that do not form a complete
attribute. A mask carrying one valid attribute plus 1-3 residue
bytes (or a non-aligned attribute length making msk_depth negative)
therefore reaches the next iteration with msk_depth != 0, so neither
the !msk_depth check in fl_set_enc_opt() nor the !depth check in the
per-type helpers fires. nla_type() then reads past the mask payload
and nla_parse_nested_deprecated() iterates with an nla_len taken
from those bytes, reading well beyond the mask attribute (KASAN:
slab-out-of-bounds read in __nla_validate_parse from fl_change()).
Validate the advanced mask pointer as well: when the mask is not
legitimately exhausted (msk_depth != 0) and the new pointer fails
nla_ok(), reject the filter with -EINVAL. An exactly exhausted mask
still skips the check, preserving exact-match behaviour for the
remaining key attributes. |

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
KVM: x86/mmu: Cope with the SS bit being set in #NPF exit codes
When running Hyper-V from Windows 11, KVM is seeing the SS bit set
in nested page fault error codes produced for shadowed NPT. The AMD
manual is unclear about when SS is set, including whether it can be set
when SupervisorShadowStackEn (bit 6) is not set in the MISC_CTL field
of the VMCB.
Nevertheless, the unexpected SS bit causes out of bounds accesses in
permission_fault(), seen as either WARNs or UBSAN reports:
kernel: UBSAN: array-index-out-of-bounds in arch/x86/kvm/mmu.h:225:27
kernel: index 34 is out of range for type 'u16 [16]'
(in this case, the page fault error code is 34*2=0x44, i.e. SS|U; the
report shows SS|U|W happening as well). Fix the handling of unknown
error codes by dropping SS and (with a WARN) any bits not among those
that permission_fault() expects to receive.
At the same time, given the uncertainty about when hardware sets SS,
follow the processor's behavior when constructing the fault's error
code, and preserve the SS bit as passed to FNAME(walk_addr_generic).
While the behavior is surprising, there's a possibility that Hyper-V
expects it (Hyper-V does not even enable CET unless it finds MBEC/GMET!),
so retain the information when reflecting the fault to L1 instead of
unconditionally discarding it.
Bisection shows that this started happening with commit 687ee95c1b6d ("KVM:
nSVM: enable GMET for guests"), even though SHSTK was available to guests
since Linux 6.18. However, this is not because bit 1 of MISC_CTL (GMET)
somehow enables reporting the SS bit; rather, it's simply that Hyper-V
never uses CET unless GMET is also present. The WARN is reproducible
even with gmet=0, with some hacking of kvm-unit-tests's cet.c testcase
to ensure that the first access to the shadow stack triggers a page fault. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: p54: validate firmware record lengths
The p54 firmware parser accesses component ID and component version
records without checking that their lengths cover the fields being read.
A malformed record can therefore make the parser read past the record.
Validate the component ID and component version record lengths before
accessing their data. The descriptor record is also checked against the
shortest descriptor length found in the supported firmware images.
Reject descriptor values that underflow the RX offset or produce an empty
RX range before updating the driver state. |
| Electron is a framework for writing cross-platform desktop applications using JavaScript, HTML and CSS. Prior to versions 42.11.6, 43.7.3, 44.4.3, and 45.0.0-alpha.9, frame data received from the GPU process for webContents.beginFrameSubscription was not fully validated by the main process. An attacker who had separately gained code execution in the GPU process could supply inconsistent frame geometry and cause the main process to read out-of-bounds memory while producing captured frame images, disclosing memory or crashing the application. This issue is fixed in versions 42.11.6, 43.7.3, 44.4.3, and 45.0.0-alpha.9. |
| Thor Vector Graphics (ThorVG) is a production-ready vector graphics engine. Prior to 1.0.7, the `SFNT/TTF` font loader's `SfntLoader::gen` function in `tvgSfntLoader.cpp` reads `data[0] through data[3]` to identify the font type without first checking that the input buffer contains at least four bytes. Loading an undersized font directly from memory through public APIs such as `tvg::Text::load` causes an out-of-bounds read. Loading through a file path using `mmap` can mask the read because of page alignment; the memory-loading API directly exposes it. Depending on memory layout, a malformed short font may crash the consuming application or disclose adjacent heap memory. This issue is fixed in version 1.0.7. |

| Vulnerability in Oracle Java SE (component: Compiler). Supported versions that are affected are Oracle Java SE: 25.0.4.1 and 27. Difficult to exploit vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise Oracle Java SE. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized read access to a subset of Oracle Java SE accessible data. Note: This vulnerability can only be exploited by supplying data to APIs in the specified Component without using Untrusted Java Web Start applications or Untrusted Java applets, such as through a web service. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 3.7 (Confidentiality impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N). |
| A flaw was found in Redis community. The cluster bus packet parser, responsible for handling PING, PONG, and MEET packets, fails to properly validate string-carrying extensions for null-termination. This oversight allows a remote attacker to craft a malicious packet, leading to an out-of-bounds read when the packet's payload is processed. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could result in the disclosure of sensitive information or a remote denial of service (DoS). |

| Asterisk is an open source private branch exchange and telephony toolkit. Prior to Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3, an authenticated attacker may cause a heap buffer overflow through an out-of-bounds write in the `Codec2` decoder caused by a `floor/ceil sample-count mismatch`. The `codec_codec2` module must be loaded and `Codec2` must be configured on the attacked endpoint. The attacker must pass SIP authentication by username/password or `source IP address matching`, establish a call using `Codec2`, and send carefully crafted `Codec2` audio packets. This issue is fixed in Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3. |
| FreeRDP before 3.32.1 contains a heap-based out-of-bounds read in WinPR's clipboard PNG-to-CF_DIB synthesis because winpr_read_png_from_buffer() allocates a bit-packed buffer for PNGs with bit depth below 8, while winpr_bitmap_write_buffer() copies rows assuming one byte per pixel. A malicious RDP server can send a crafted low-bit-depth PNG clipboard payload that, when pasted by the victim, discloses megabytes of heap memory. |
