| Out-of-bounds read in DNS Server allows an unauthorized attacker to disclose information over a network. |
| IBM MQ could allow an authenticated attacker to trigger a minor out-of-bounds read when sending malformed compressed data, though the data is not disclosed and the request is rejected. |
| Out-of-bounds read in Windows DNS allows an authorized attacker to deny service over a network. |
| Out-of-bounds read in Windows Overlay Filter allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. |
| Out-of-bounds read in Microsoft Office PowerPoint allows an unauthorized attacker to disclose information over a network. |
| Electron is a framework for writing cross-platform desktop applications using JavaScript, HTML and CSS. Prior to versions 42.11.6, 43.7.3, 44.4.3, and 45.0.0-alpha.9, frame data received from the GPU process for macOS offscreen rendering was not fully validated by the main process. An attacker who had separately gained code execution in the GPU process could provide inconsistent frame geometry and cause the main process to read out-of-bounds memory while producing paint event images, disclosing memory or crashing the application. This issue is fixed in versions 42.11.6, 43.7.3, 44.4.3, and 45.0.0-alpha.9. |
| When the HTTP stream wrapper follows a redirect and the response carries a Location header with an empty value, the redirect code reads one byte past the end of the heap buffer holding the location. The value of that out-of-bounds byte decides which redirect target is built, so a malicious server controls whether the client is sent to the host root or to the current directory. |
| The mysqlnd wire protocol parser reads fields out of server packets before checking that the packet still holds enough bytes for them. A malicious or compromised MySQL server can send a truncated packet and make the client read past the end of the packet buffer, which is undefined behaviour and can crash the process. |
| Antiword through 0.37 contains a stack out-of-bounds read vulnerability in vGet8PapInfo and vGet8ChrInfo in prop8.c because FKP run counts and grpprl offsets are not bounded. Attackers can supply a crafted .doc file with malicious FKP pages to read past the 512-byte stack buffer, crashing antiword or corrupting style parsing. |
| libmikmod through 3.3.15 contains a global out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the MultiTracker loader MTM_Load() because the module channel count is never clamped. Attackers can supply a crafted .mtm file with a channel count above 32 to read past the static pat array, corrupting track indices and crashing the loading application. |
| libmikmod through 3.3.15 contains a heap out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the IMF_Load() loader that allows attackers to read beyond allocated memory by supplying a crafted IMF module. Attackers can enable the linear-period header flag and map notes to out-of-range samples, causing noteindex indexing far past the heap allocation and crashing applications that load the file. |
| MariaDB server is a community developed fork of MySQL server. From 10.6.1 until 10.6.28, 10.11.19, 11.4.13, 11.8.9, 12.3.3, and 13.0.2, ST_Area reads beyond the allocated buffer when processing invalid WKB for a MultiPolygon because the multi-polygon parser advances past a nested geometry header without first verifying enough input remains. A low-privileged remote attacker can supply malformed spatial data to disclose memory useful for bypassing ASLR as part of a multi-vulnerability chain. This issue is fixed in versions 10.6.28, 10.11.19, 11.4.13, 11.8.9, 12.3.3, and 13.0.2. |
| RIOT is an open-source microcontroller operating system designed for Internet of Things devices and other embedded systems. Prior to 2026.07, _parse_reply() in sys/net/application_layer/dhcpv6/client.c omits minimum-length validation before passing IA_PD and IA_NA option bodies to sub-option parsers. A malicious or compromised DHCPv6 server can send a REPLY with an option length smaller than the required structure while MODULE_DHCPV6_CLIENT_IA_PD is enabled, causing _parse_ia_pd_option to read past the option body, size_t underflow, and unbounded out-of-bounds heap reads that can crash the device and may expose or corrupt memory. This issue is fixed in version 2026.07. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
nvmet: pci-epf: reject too-short SGL segments
The host controls an SGL segment's length. A nonzero length smaller than
one SGL descriptor makes nr_descs zero, so
nvmet_pci_epf_get_sgl_segment() reads the type byte of sgls[-1] outside
the allocated buffer. If that byte contains a segment descriptor type,
the function also copies the preceding 16 bytes and returns a negative
descriptor count.
The read was reproduced in 3/3 KASAN boots with only the host transfer
mocked by a KUnit test:
BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in nvmet_pci_epf_get_sgl_segment
Read of size 1 by task kunit_try_catch
Call Trace:
nvmet_pci_epf_get_sgl_segment
nvmet_pci_epf_short_sgl_test
Kernel panic - not syncing: KASAN: panic_on_warn set ...
Reject segments that cannot hold one descriptor before allocating or
transferring their contents. |
| Vulnerability in the MySQL Server, MySQL Cluster product of Oracle MySQL (component: Server: Security: Encryption). Supported versions that are affected are MySQL Server: 9.7.0-9.7.3, 26.7.0-26.7.1; MySQL Cluster: 9.7.0-9.7.3 and 26.7.0-26.7.1. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows high privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise MySQL Server, MySQL Cluster. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete DOS) of MySQL Server, MySQL Cluster and unauthorized read access to a subset of MySQL Server, MySQL Cluster accessible data. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 5.5 (Confidentiality and Availability impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:H). |
| A flaw was found in the iscsiuio component of open-iscsi. The IPv6 Neighbor Discovery handler accesses link-layer address options at a fixed offset without verifying the packet contains them. Additionally, the ARP table is updated unconditionally with attacker-controlled addresses from the packet headers. An attacker on the same network segment can send a minimal Neighbor Advertisement to poison the ARP table and redirect network traffic. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: usb: catc: bound the RX packet length in catc_rx_done()
catc_rx_done() walks a multi-packet URB, reading a two-byte length from
each packet header. Its bound, pkt_len > urb->actual_length, ignores the
header offset and compares against the whole transfer rather than the
bytes left from pkt_start, so a crafted packet header makes
skb_copy_to_linear_data() read past the buffer.
A length below ETH_HLEN is also accepted, including zero, and
eth_type_trans() then reads a MAC header from the uninitialised tailroom
of a shorter skb. The is_f5u011 branch takes its length straight from
the transfer, so a zero-length URB reaches the same path.
Track the bytes remaining from the current packet, and reject a header
that does not fit, a length past what is left, and a length below an
Ethernet header.
A transfer shorter than an Ethernet header, including a zero-length one,
previously became a runt skb passed to netif_rx() and counted as
received; it is now counted in rx_length_errors and ends the walk. |
| Out of bounds read in Media in Google Chrome prior to 156.0.8078.47 allowed a remote attacker to read memory inside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: High) |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
nfc: llcp: drop truncated I/RR/RNR PDUs in nfc_llcp_recv_hdlc()
nfc_llcp_recv_hdlc() reads the sequence byte skb->data[2], via
nfc_llcp_ns()/nfc_llcp_nr(), before any length check. The receive path
only guarantees the two-byte LLCP header -- __nfc_llcp_recv() checks it
with pskb_may_pull() and nfc_llcp_recv_agf() admits two-byte inner PDUs
-- so a two-byte I, RR or RNR PDU reads one byte of uninitialised skb
tailroom. The byte becomes N(R)/N(S); a peer can already set those with
a well-formed PDU, so this is acting on uninitialised memory, not new
peer control.
Guard the read with pskb_may_pull(), as commit 95674f506c63 ("nfc: llcp:
reject PDUs shorter than the LLCP header") did for the two-byte header,
so the sequence byte is present and linear before it is read. RR and RNR
PDUs are LLCP_HEADER_SIZE + LLCP_SEQUENCE_SIZE bytes and an I PDU is
longer, so no valid frame is rejected; a truncated PDU is malformed, so
return without a DM reply. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
Bluetooth: btintel_pcie: validate device-supplied DMA indices
In btintel_pcie_msix_rx_handle(), the driver processes RX completion
descriptors (urbd1) written by the PCIe device into DMA-coherent memory.
urbd1->frbd_tag (a 16-bit field fully controlled by the device firmware
via DMA) is used directly as an array index into rxq->bufs[] without any
bounds check. rxq->bufs[] has only BTINTEL_PCIE_RX_DESCS_COUNT (64)
entries, while frbd_tag can be any value 0-65535. A malicious or
malfunctioning device can write an out-of-range frbd_tag, causing the
driver to dereference an out-of-bounds data_buf pointer.
Additionally, cr_hia is read from a DMA-shared index array also writable
by the device; if the device sets cr_hia >= rxq->count, the while-loop
never terminates because cr_tia is wrapped via modulo rxq->count and can
never equal an out-of-range cr_hia.
Add bounds validation for cr_hia and frbd_tag in the RX path, and cr_hia
in the TX path. Log invalid values with bt_dev_err before returning. |
