CVE-2026-23459 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 8.2 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ip_tunnel: adapt iptunnel_xmit_stats() to NETDEV_PCPU_STAT_DSTATS Blamed commits forgot that vxlan/geneve use udp_tunnel[6]_xmit_skb() which call iptunnel_xmit_stats(). iptunnel_xmit_stats() was assuming tunnels were only using NETDEV_PCPU_STAT_TSTATS. @syncp offset in pcpu_sw_netstats and pcpu_dstats is different. 32bit kernels would either have corruptions or freezes if the syncp sequence was overwritten. This patch also moves pcpu_stat_type closer to dev->{t,d}stats to avoid a potential cache line miss since iptunnel_xmit_stats() needs to read it.
CVE-2026-98536 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-20 4.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: writeback: report a Tasks-RCU quiescent state per cgwb drain pass cleanup_offline_cgwbs_workfn() drains a dying cgwb by calling cleanup_offline_cgwb() until it returns false, with a cond_resched() between passes. On a CONFIG_PREEMPTION kernel that cond_resched() does nothing: _cond_resched() is a plain "return 0", and under PREEMPT_DYNAMIC the full and lazy modes disable it. Since commit 7dadeaa6e851 ("sched: Further restrict the preemption modes") those are the only two models on the architectures with PREEMPT_LAZY support, arm64 and x86 among them, so the drain loop never reports a Tasks-RCU quiescent state. A worker draining a cgwb with millions of attached inodes runs for minutes. On a 6.18 arm64 host in lazy mode the cgwb worker drained one dying cgroup's writeback domain for over 11 minutes. A BPF program unlink (bpf_trampoline_unlink_prog -> bpf_trampoline_update -> unregister_ftrace_direct -> ftrace_shutdown -> synchronize_rcu_tasks()) waited on that grace period while holding the trampoline mutex, 42 tasks queued behind it in D state, and the hung task detector fired at 614 s and panicked the host. Any BPF or ftrace detach during a long drain inherits the drain's length. Fix this by calling cond_resched_tasks_rcu_qs() so we do not stall out anybody who calls sycnrhonize_rcu_tasks(). We put this in a do { } while loop because if we have many small cgroups cleanup_offline_cgwb() will return false and we will never call cond_resched_tasks_rcu_qs(), creating the same problem.
CVE-2026-98530 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-20 4.4 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: kprobes: Fix permanent hang when flushing the kprobe optimizer Writing 0 to /proc/sys/debug/kprobes-optimization while a kprobe is jump-optimized never returns. The writer sleeps in D state forever with kprobe_sysctl_mutex held, so any later read or write of that sysctl hangs as well. For example, with vfs_read+9 as an optimizable address in this build: # cd /sys/kernel/tracing # echo 'p:myprobe vfs_read+9' >> kprobe_events # echo 1 > events/kprobes/myprobe/enable # # wait until /sys/kernel/debug/kprobes/list shows [OPTIMIZED] # echo 0 > /proc/sys/debug/kprobes-optimization INFO: task sh:246 blocked for more than 10 seconds. Call Trace: <TASK> __schedule+0x1176/0x4f70 schedule+0xdc/0x2c0 schedule_timeout+0x17b/0x260 wait_for_completion+0x173/0x3c0 wait_for_kprobe_optimizer_locked+0xbc/0x130 proc_kprobes_optimization_handler+0x156/0x1b0 proc_sys_call_handler+0x324/0x490 vfs_write+0x52d/0xfe0 ksys_write+0xff/0x200 do_syscall_64+0x106/0x630 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x77/0x7f </TASK> ... INFO: task cat:265 is blocked on a mutex likely owned by task sh:246. wait_for_kprobe_optimizer_locked() reinitializes optimizer_completion, asks the optimizer thread to flush and sleeps in wait_for_completion(). The thread drains the (un)optimizing lists, but calls complete() only if completion_done() is true, i.e. if the completion is already done, which never happens while someone waits. disarm_all_kprobes() and kprobe_trace_self_tests_init() wait the same way. Calling complete() unconditionally would not be enough: the waiter drops kprobe_mutex while it sleeps, and nothing else serializes the sysctl handler against the debugfs "enabled" file. A second flusher that still finds the lists non-empty, e.g. because a disabled probe is queued for unoptimizing, reinitializes the completion under the first: sysctl write debugfs "enabled" write unoptimize_all_kprobes() wait_for_kprobe_optimizer_locked() init_completion(c) mutex_unlock(&kprobe_mutex) wait_for_completion(c) disarm_all_kprobes() wait_for_kprobe_optimizer_locked() init_completion(c) // c->wait is reset, the first // waiter is off the queue mutex_unlock(&kprobe_mutex) wait_for_completion(c) kprobe_optimizer() complete(c) // wakes the debugfs writer only where c is &optimizer_completion. Lining up the two writes during an optimizer pass loses the sysctl writer this way. Replace the completion with a counter of optimizer passes, bumped at the end of each pass and signalled with wake_up_var_locked(), both under kprobe_mutex. A flusher samples the count and waits with wait_var_event_mutex(), which drops kprobe_mutex only while sleeping, so a new count means a whole pass ran in the meantime. Nothing is reinitialized, so several flushers can sleep in the wait at once.
CVE-2026-98683 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-20 2.5 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: flush dirty data before zeroing a range smb3_zero_range() emulates FALLOC_FL_ZERO_RANGE by invalidating the page cache over the target range with truncate_pagecache_range() and then issuing FSCTL_SET_ZERO_DATA to the server. Dirty data was only flushed conditionally, when the range reached or extended EOF. For a purely interior zero range that does not reach EOF, no flush happened, so a dirty folio overlapping the range could be written back to the server after the FSCTL and refill the range that was just zeroed with stale data. Fix this by unconditionally flushing and waiting for dirty data in the range before invalidating the page cache and issuing FSCTL_SET_ZERO_DATA, exactly as was done for smb3_punch_hole() in commit d7d2adcd022b ("smb/client: flush dirty data before punching a hole"); the two paths are structurally identical here. This is observed as generic/363 randomly reading stale data where a zeroed range is expected against Windows Server.
CVE-2026-64160 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 9.8 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfs: Fix potential for tearing in ->remote_i_size and ->zero_point Fix potential tearing in using ->remote_i_size and ->zero_point by copying i_size_read() and i_size_write() and using the same seqcount as for i_size. We need to make sure that netfslib and the filesystems that use it always hold i_lock whilst updating any of the sizes to prevent i_size_seqcount from getting corrupted.
CVE-2026-53217 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 8.6 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: mvpp2: sync RX data at the hardware packet offset mvpp2 programs the RX queue packet offset, so hardware writes received data at dma_addr + MVPP2_SKB_HEADROOM. The current CPU sync starts at dma_addr and only covers rx_bytes + MVPP2_MH_SIZE bytes, which syncs the unused headroom and misses the same number of bytes at the packet tail. On non-coherent DMA systems this can leave the CPU reading stale cache contents for the end of the received frame. Use dma_sync_single_range_for_cpu() with MVPP2_SKB_HEADROOM as the range offset so the sync covers the Marvell header and packet data actually written by hardware.
CVE-2026-53096 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Use RCU-safe iteration in dev_map_redirect_multi() SKB path The DEVMAP_HASH branch in dev_map_redirect_multi() uses hlist_for_each_entry_safe() to iterate hash buckets, but this function runs under RCU protection (called from xdp_do_generic_redirect_map() in softirq context). Concurrent writers (__dev_map_hash_update_elem, dev_map_hash_delete_elem) modify the list using RCU primitives (hlist_add_head_rcu, hlist_del_rcu). hlist_for_each_entry_safe() performs plain pointer dereferences without rcu_dereference(), missing the acquire barrier needed to pair with writers' rcu_assign_pointer(). On weakly-ordered architectures (ARM64, POWER), a reader can observe a partially-constructed node. It also defeats CONFIG_PROVE_RCU lockdep validation and KCSAN data-race detection. Replace with hlist_for_each_entry_rcu() using rcu_read_lock_bh_held() as the lockdep condition, consistent with the rcu_dereference_check() used in the DEVMAP (non-hash) branch of the same functions. Also fix the same incorrect lockdep_is_held(&dtab->index_lock) condition in dev_map_enqueue_multi(), where the lock is not held either.

CVE-2026-46015 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tcp: call sk_data_ready() after listener migration When inet_csk_listen_stop() migrates an established child socket from a closing listener to another socket in the same SO_REUSEPORT group, the target listener gets a new accept-queue entry via inet_csk_reqsk_queue_add(), but that path never notifies the target listener's waiters. A nonblocking accept() still works because it checks the queue directly, but poll()/epoll_wait() waiters and blocking accept() callers can also remain asleep indefinitely. Call READ_ONCE(nsk->sk_data_ready)(nsk) after a successful migration in inet_csk_listen_stop(). However, after inet_csk_reqsk_queue_add() succeeds, the ref acquired in reuseport_migrate_sock() is effectively transferred to nreq->rsk_listener. Another CPU can then dequeue nreq via accept() or listener shutdown, hit reqsk_put(), and drop that listener ref. Since listeners are SOCK_RCU_FREE, wrap the post-queue_add() dereferences of nsk in rcu_read_lock()/rcu_read_unlock(), which also covers the existing sock_net(nsk) access in that path. The reqsk_timer_handler() path does not need the same changes for two reasons: half-open requests become readable only after the final ACK, where tcp_child_process() already wakes the listener; and once nreq is visible via inet_ehash_insert(), the success path no longer touches nsk directly.
CVE-2026-45862 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iommu/vt-d: Flush cache for PASID table before using it When writing the address of a freshly allocated zero-initialized PASID table to a PASID directory entry, do that after the CPU cache flush for this PASID table, not before it, to avoid the time window when this PASID table may be already used by non-coherent IOMMU hardware while its contents in RAM is still some random old data, not zero-initialized.
CVE-2026-43466 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 8.2 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/mlx5e: Fix DMA FIFO desync on error CQE SQ recovery In case of a TX error CQE, a recovery flow is triggered, mlx5e_reset_txqsq_cc_pc() resets dma_fifo_cc to 0 but not dma_fifo_pc, desyncing the DMA FIFO producer and consumer. After recovery, the producer pushes new DMA entries at the old dma_fifo_pc, while the consumer reads from position 0. This causes us to unmap stale DMA addresses from before the recovery. The DMA FIFO is a purely software construct with no HW counterpart. At the point of reset, all WQEs have been flushed so dma_fifo_cc is already equal to dma_fifo_pc. There is no need to reset either counter, similar to how skb_fifo pc/cc are untouched. Remove the 'dma_fifo_cc = 0' reset. CVE-2026-43239 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 8.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: prevent races in ->query_interfaces() It was possible for two query interface works to be concurrently trying to update the interfaces. Prevent this by checking and updating iface_last_update under iface_lock.
CVE-2026-43019 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_conn: fix potential UAF in set_cig_params_sync hci_conn lookup and field access must be covered by hdev lock in set_cig_params_sync, otherwise it's possible it is freed concurrently. CVE-2026-31668 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 9.8 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: seg6: separate dst_cache for input and output paths in seg6 lwtunnel The seg6 lwtunnel uses a single dst_cache per encap route, shared between seg6_input_core() and seg6_output_core(). These two paths can perform the post-encap SID lookup in different routing contexts (e.g., ip rules matching on the ingress interface, or VRF table separation). Whichever path runs first populates the cache, and the other reuses it blindly, bypassing its own lookup. Fix this by splitting the cache into cache_input and cache_output, so each path maintains its own cached dst independently.
CVE-2026-31539 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 7.5 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: smbdirect: introduce smbdirect_socket.recv_io.credits.available The logic off managing recv credits by counting posted recv_io and granted credits is racy. That's because the peer might already consumed a credit, but between receiving the incoming recv at the hardware and processing the completion in the 'recv_done' functions we likely have a window where we grant credits, which don't really exist. So we better have a decicated counter for the available credits, which will be incremented when we posted new recv buffers and drained when we grant the credits to the peer.
CVE-2026-89549 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-16 7.5 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sunrpc: route to a populated pool in svc_pool_for_cpu() svc_set_num_threads() spreads the requested threads evenly across the service's pools (base = nrservs / sv_nrpools). When a service runs fewer threads than it has pools -- e.g. an nfsd configured with fewer threads than the host has NUMA nodes while running in "pernode" or "percpu" mode -- the trailing pools are left with no threads at all. svc_xprt_enqueue() selects a pool from the CPU servicing the transport, queues the transport on that pool's sp_xprts, and only wakes a thread from the same pool. Each thread services exclusively its own pool, so a transport that lands on a threadless pool is enqueued on sp_xprts and never picked up: the connection hangs indefinitely. Have svc_pool_for_cpu() skip pools that currently have no threads, falling back to the next populated pool. This trades NUMA locality for a guarantee that the work is actually serviced. sp_nrthreads is only updated under the service mutex; the lockless read here is a best-effort routing hint, so annotate it with data_race().
CVE-2026-80977 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-16 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: skbuff: don't touch shared zerocopy state in skb_tx_error() skb_tx_error() completes the zerocopy uarg and clears SKBFL_ALL_ZEROCOPY, and skb_zcopy_downgrade_managed() clears SKBFL_MANAGED_FRAG_REFS. Both live in skb_shinfo(), which every clone shares, while the caller only owns the reference it is about to drop. Through a clone it tells the producer its pages are free and drops SKBFL_SHARED_FRAG for an skb that is still in flight. Open vSwitch reaches this with a non-last OVS_ACTION_ATTR_RECIRC: clone_execute() sends a skb_clone() into ovs_dp_process_packet() while do_execute_actions() keeps forwarding the original, and skb_clone() does not privatise the frags here -- skb_orphan_frags() returns early on SKBFL_DONT_ORPHAN. A flow miss on the clone then strips the marker from the packet still being forwarded, and a later local ESP delivery decrypts in place over frags it does not own privately. Skip it for a cloned skb. Nothing is lost: skb_release_data() clears the zerocopy state once the last reference to the shared data goes.
CVE-2026-74568 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-16 9.3 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: arm64: vgic: Fix race between LPI release and re-registration Fix a potential race between decrementing an LPI's reference count and evicting that structure from the LPI xarray. LPI structures are maintained in the VGIC LPI xarray (dist->lpi_xa). When the reference count of an LPI structure drops to zero, vgic_release_lpi_locked() removes the structure from the xarray and frees it under the xarray lock. However, the release of an LPI can race with a concurrent LPI re-registration with the same INTID via vgic_add_lpi() on another CPU, since the reference count drop and the xarray eviction are not performed in a single atomic step. This can happen e.g. if the guest issues a DISCARD while the LPI is still referenced from a vCPU's active-pending list (ap_list), and the same INTID is re-mapped via MAPTI. Particularly, vgic_release_lpi_locked() is called from two distinct paths: direct release via vgic_put_irq(), and deferred release via vgic_release_deleted_lpis(). During direct release, the issue can result in deleting a newly registered LPI from the xarray: CPU0 (Releasing LPI) CPU1 (Adding new LPI) ==================== ===================== vgic_put_irq() __vgic_put_irq() refcount_dec_and_test() vgic_add_lpi() xa_lock_irqsave() old_irq = xa_load(.., intid) vgic_try_get_irq_ref(old_irq) == false new IRQ inserted --> __xa_store(.., intid, ..) xa_unlock_irqrestore() xa_lock_irqsave(); vgic_release_lpi_locked() __xa_erase(.., irq->intid) <-- BUG: new IRQ is erased kfree_rcu(old_irq) During the deferred release path, the old IRQ can be leaked: CPU0 (Releasing LPI) CPU1 (Adding new LPI) ==================== ===================== vgic_put_irq_norelease() __vgic_put_irq() refcount_dec_and_test() irq->pending_release = true vgic_add_lpi() xa_lock_irqsave() old_irq = xa_load(.., intid) vgic_try_get_irq_ref(oldirq) == false BUG: old IRQ overwritten --> __xa_store(.., intid, ..) xa_unlock_irqrestore() vgic_release_deleted_lpis() xa_lock_irqsave() xa_for_each() { .. } <-- old IRQ with pending_release = true is gone, so it cannot be released To fix the direct release path, move the reference count drop inside the xarray lock, making sure that vgic_add_lpi() never encounters the to-be-released LPI. In the deferred release path, the refcount drop must happen under a raw spinlock, so the xarray lock cannot be grabbed, and the same solution does not work. Instead, update vgic_add_lpi(), so that if it evicts an LPI from the xarray, it takes on the responsibility of freeing it. Consequently, an LPI may now be freed concurrently after a deferred release drops the refcount, so accessing the pending_release field is no longer safe from use-after-free. Delete all uses of the flag, and update vgic_release_deleted_lpis() to identify orphaned LPIs purely based on their refcount.
CVE-2026-72434 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-16 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: ipset: make sure gc is properly stopped Sashiko noticed that when destroying a set, cancel_delayed_work_sync() was called while gc calls queue_delayed_work() unconditionally which can lead not to properly shutting down the gc.
